Ecological, mobile and silent, Coldway Technologies has created the cold of the 21st century.

Coldway Technologies, an entity of SOFRIGAM GROUP since 2018, designs, tests and manufactures autonomous refrigeration units intended to be assembled on insulated containers. These active refrigerated containers are then assembled on all types of vehicles (bicycles, tricycles, cars, or trucks) to transport food or pharmaceutical products under a cold chain.

Autonomous, mobile, silent and sustainable, this refrigeration system offers numerous advantages to facilitate last-mile delivery in urban centres, including being a completely decarbonised technology.

It thus provides a suitable response to urban delivery challenges and an alternative to the new regulations governing refrigerants, which foresee the prohibition of HFCs within a few years.

The solid-gas sorption system in practice

Coldway Inside technology for producing cold (or heat) is based on the principle of solid-gas sorption. This involves a chemical reaction between a natural refrigerant, ammonia, and a mixture of salts and graphite, within a completely sealed circuit.

The solid-gas sorption system stores energy indefinitely. It has the immense advantage of creating cold and heat instantly, without noise or vibration, and being infinitely rechargeable. More than 3,000 recharge cycles have been observed, with no loss of power.

Coldway Technologies is a French company founded in 2001. Its innovative patented cold production system originates from a technology transfer from CNRS.
